Consultant Psychiatrist – Wimborne Community Mental Health Team
We have an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Wimborne Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and play a key leadership role in shaping the service in line with the Long‑Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and ongoing care for service users, and give advice and guidance to local general practitioners and the clinical leadership of the multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in the Dorset‑wide on‑call rota, compensated at 3 % on‑call availability plus an additional 0.75 PA for full‑time participation.
* Collaborate closely with the integrated service manager, community mental health nurses, psychologists, support workers and social workers.

* Recruitment and retention payment of £10,000 paid in monthly instalments for the first year of employment.

About the Team
The team is a small multidisciplinary group, including an integrated service manager, community mental health nurses, psychologists, support workers and social workers. In addition to the consultant post, a part‑time senior resident doctor (ST4–6) and a full‑time GP trainee support the team.
