We are currently looking for a Construction Manager to work in our Building Team, based at Botanic Place, Cambridge, to effectively and professionally manage and monitor one or more work packages or areas, providing clear direction to other Skanska staff to ensure your responsibilities are coordinated with other construction managers in a timely, efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
* Champion site safety culture, ensuring all works are planned, controlled, and delivered safely in line with statutory, regulatory, and company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards.
* Manage subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to drawings and specifications and performance is effectively monitored on site.
* Oversee subcontractor, labour, and material requirements, supporting construction teams with day-to-day site activities.
* Represent the company at meetings, promoting a professional image and ensuring staff understand their responsibilities.
* Produce regular progress reports to track performance and identify issues early.
Qualifications
* Proven Construction Manager experience on similar-sized projects, ideally with a tier 1 main contractor.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in delivering building projects successfully.
* Significant site-based experience, including people management.
* Strong understanding of the construction process and sequence.
* Able to share construction expertise with the team and lead by example, guiding junior and office-based colleagues on effective project delivery.
* Construction-related qualification to HNC level.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
