Role and Responsibilities
* Maintain and update lease details on the database in an accurate and timely manner.
* Maintain and update property service charge year end and budget information on the database.
* Support Year End closure process.
* Manage client voids to ensure cashflow is maintained.
* Carry out quarterly reviews of the service charge account with the surveyor/facilities manager.
* Produce monthly/quarterly client reporting in agreed formats (internal control reporting to identify and manage risk; reviewed by line manager before submission).
* Ensure all rents, service charges and insurance recharges are billed accurately well in advance of due date to support debt collection.
* Attend finance/accounts meetings both on and off site with your line manager.
* Raise ad hoc and one-off charges for the recovery of costs as appropriate.
* Timely recovery of utility costs and complete full reconciliations of the utility recharge account.
* Liaise with credit control/supervisor to assist in the recovery of all charges.
* Monitor Client Bank Reconciliation and AY Bank Reconciliation to ensure prompt clearance of items.
* Liaise with cashiers to resolve queries.
* Assist REM helpdesk with queries arising.
* Ensure all KPIs and delivery deadlines are met.
* Management of insufficient cash positions.
Qualifications and Experience
* Solid all-round client accounting knowledge and extensive service charge accounting experience.
* Comprehensive understanding of the property life cycle from mobilisation through to off-boarding, including interpretation of completion statements, accounting for property sales/transfers to new agents, financial reporting, risk management and compliance.
* Experience in Property Accounting would be beneficial.
