Health Services Lead for the North UK & Scotland

The Health Services Lead oversees the advisory team who is responsible for the health and wellbeing interventions within employability services. Their role includes ensuring the clinical quality and the innovation and effectiveness of these sessions. This role ensures that all health-related support is evidence based, client centred, and trauma informed, while aligning with performance goals.

Working closely with the Contract Delivery Lead, the Health Services Lead supports wellbeing advisors and psychologists through clinical guidance, reflective supervision, and caseload management.

They lead complex case reviews, champion best practice, and drive service innovation through the design and piloting of new therapeutic approaches. Acting as the main point of contact for clinical safeguarding and referral triage, the postholder plays a key role in maintaining high service standards and positive client outcomes, while promoting inclusive, culturally responsive delivery across teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Support wellbeing advisors and psychologists to deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions.
* Lead case conferences and complex case reviews to ensure appropriate clinical oversight and effective outcomes.
* Manage caseload equity by offering creative delivery solutions (e.g., group sessions, workshops, thematic clinics).
•Promote and embed clinical best practices across delivery teams.
* Provide coaching and reflective supervision where required to front-line staff.
* Collaborate with the Contract delivery Leads to balance performance expectations with service quality.
* Design and implement creative session formats that address varied client needs and reduce advisor strain.
* Lead innovation efforts across health delivery – including piloting new tools, formats, and therapeutic approaches.
* Act as lead contact for clinical safeguarding escalations and ensure timely case resolution.
* Promote success stories and good practice to the DWP and wider stakeholders.
* Oversee and respond to the referral inbox, ensuring timely and supportive triage of new clients.
* Champion inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practice across all service lines.
* The Health Services Lead works in close collaboration with the Contract Delivery Leads to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively. While the Contract Delivery Leads focus on operational KPIs, the Health Services Lead focuses on clinical depth, service quality, and frontline practitioner support.
* Health Service Leads will be required at times to hold a small clinical caseload of roughly 5 with a maximum of 10 clients to ensure they stay close to operational best practice.

Person Specification

* Clinical background in mental health, psychology, or wellbeing (e.g., HCPC, BACP, BABCP, or equivalent desirable).
* Experience delivering and/or supervising therapeutic interventions in employability or health settings.
* Demonstrated ability to manage caseload complexity and lead reflective case discussions.
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred practice.
* Ability to design and implement engaging group and one to one sessions.
* Creative problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for innovation in health delivery.
* Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to support multidisciplinary teams.
* Comfortable promoting service outcomes and stories with external partners such as the DWP.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy referral inbox with care and clarity.
