Overview

Would you like to be part of our ambitious future, working within sector leading sports facilities providing health, wellbeing, and exercise opportunities for our university communities, including international and elite athletes? If so, we would love you to join our team of Sports Assistant / Lifeguards based at the David Ross Sports Village on our Nottingham campus.
Responsibilities
* Work on a rota basis, ensuring the highest standards of facility operation.
* Set up and deliver activities and large events at the Sports Village.
* Provide safe supervision of customers and lifeguard cover of the 25‑meter indoor swimming pool.
* Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, with core hours from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm.
* Participate in a practical swim competency test as part of the interview process.
Training and Development
We will support your development by providing fully funded training in your first six months with us to achieve the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). Our team of Professional Development experts will work with you to identify and fund further courses or programmes to help you fulfil your potential.
Working Hours and Conditions
The post is offered on a permanent contract, full‑time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered. All staff employed at Levels 1–3 are eligible to claim unsocial hours (10 pm–6 am) and weekend working enhancements, receiving a 15% uplift for time worked outside core hours and on Saturdays and Sundays.
