The School and Role
We are working with a progressive, mixed 11-16 secondary school located in Benfleet who are seeking a qualified Science Teacher to start ASAP. Based in a South-East Essex, this school has a supportive faculty, who are friendly and eager for teachers to progress. There is a high proportion of students with SEN, which is around 25% of the cohort, making this an ideal placement for a Science Teacher who has an interest in special educational needs. The school provides a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators.
As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students across KS3-KS4, delivering high-quality lessons in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team, working in a well-resourced department to create engaging, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences. The successful Science Teacher will play a key role in promoting academic excellence, encouraging student curiosity, and fostering a love of learning. Requirements
The desired Science Teacher will be able to;
1. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and effective Science lessons up to GCSE.
2. Instil a passion for Science and help students to gain confidence to prepare them for their future lives.
3. Set high expectations for students in behaviour and academic achievement.
4. Assess and monitor student progress, offering feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement.
5. Actively contribute to the department’s planning, sharing resources, and collaborating with colleagues.
