A high-performing 11–18 school in Gloucester, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and inspirational Music Teacher to join their successful Performing Arts Faculty from January 2026. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Music across KS3–KS5, inspiring students to develop musical confidence through performance, composition, and appreciation. They will be expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons that foster creativity, musical understanding, and technical skill. The post holder will also play an active role in the school’s musical life, directing ensembles, choirs, and performances throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Music at KS3–KS5, developing students’ practical and theoretical skills.
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring they are well-supported in both performance and composition elements.
* Lead or assist in running school choirs, orchestras, and bands.
* Use technology effectively to enhance music learning, including recording and composition software.
* Contribute to the planning of concerts, productions, and community performances.
* Support and encourage students of all musical abilities to participate in extracurricular activities.

Experience and Qualifications
* QTS/PGCE and a degree in Music or a related subject.
* A strong performance or conducting background.
* Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level Music is desirable.
* The ability to motivate and inspire young musicians.
