Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist

Duration: 12 – 13 Month Rolling Contract
Rate: £36.50 – £44.00 per hour (Inside IR35 / Umbrella)
Work Pattern: 40 Hours Per Week | Monday – Friday

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert across various departments, including Indirect Procurement, Engine & Driveline, and Chassis & BIW. This role is responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle of both direct materials (raw materials, production parts) and indirect services (IT, travel, facilities, retail environment). You will work with a high degree of independence to manage large-scale projects, drive cost efficiency, and ensure seamless acquisition of goods and services essential to global manufacturing and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead the full sourcing lifecycle, including market analysis, supplier selection, and high-stakes negotiation of pricing and commercial terms.
* Category Management: Take ownership of specific categories (e.g., Retail Environment, MRO, or Chassis components), implementing sourcing strategies focused on sustainability and value for money.
* Contract & Supplier Management: Draft, review, and manage robust commercial contracts while driving Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to ensure KPI and SLA compliance.
* Operational Excellence: Oversee order processing and solve complex supply chain disruptions or technical specification challenges.
* Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance, work delegation, and peer reviews for junior procurement professionals and para-professionals.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and global external partners to align procurement with business goals.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Experience: Minimum 3+ years (Senior roles 5+) of professional procurement experience, ideally within Automotive, Aerospace, or high-volume Manufacturing.
* Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of RFx management, cost analysis, and legal risk mitigation.
* Systems: Proficiency in enterprise ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Ariba) and advanced MS Excel.
* Adaptability: Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments and pivot strategies based on shifting business priorities.
* Communication: Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate across different cultures and global time zones.
Education & Qualifications:
* Degree: Degree-level education in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
* Certification: CIPS Level 4 or above (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly desirable
