About the role
We’re excited to announce the opening of a new Lifeblood Donor Centre in Cheltenham and are looking for passionate, purpose-driven individuals to join our team!
Step into a rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference by supporting life-changing blood donations.
As a Registered Nurse, you’ll bring your excellent customer service skills and passion for care to deliver an exceptional experience, while working collaboratively to help ensure Australia’s supply of blood products.
A day in the centre could see you:
* Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
* Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
* Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
* Set up machines and collections equipment
* Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
* Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
* Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation
Our paid and flexible self‑paced training program has a balance between on-the-job practice and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported. Besides having a real passion to deliver an exceptional donor experience, you’ll need to be able to:
* Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
* Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
* Utilise your expertise having completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registration
* Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
Please note: We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available across a rotating roster, requiring flexibility to work Monday to Sunday, with contracted hours ranging from 42 to 76 hours per fortnight.
