Role Responsibilities: As a Nurture Teacher, you will: Deliver a well-planned, sequenced curriculum tailored to individual needs and strengths, preparing students for adulthood. Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and positive relationships. Take responsibility for classroom management, including supporting and line-managing class staff (with training provided). Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting strategies to meet individual needs. Support communication development using methods such as Makaton, AAC, verbal and non-verbal strategies. Provide a range of experiences to help learners generalise and maintain skills in real-life contexts. Promote opportunities for social interaction, building confidence, resilience, and social skills. Engage in planning, marking, and attending staff meetings as part of the wider school team.
