Netrako is a regional advisory firm operating at the crossroads of finance, engineering, and procurement in the energy and materials industries. We combine technical expertise with rigorous financial analysis to guide clients through investments, operations, and risk management across complex value chains in the MENA region.
About the role
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you'll work at the junction of data and strategy. Your task will be to transform operational information into financial insights that support both project-level decisions (budgeting, pricing, capex/opex trade-offs) and corporate finance activities (forecasting, liquidity, performance tracking). This is a hands-on position that shows how finance directly influences engineering and procurement outcomes.
Key responsibilities
* Build and update streamlined financial models (integrated statements, cash flow breakdowns, variance analysis, unit economics).
* Structure and reconcile datasets, producing decision-ready KPIs such as margin, utilization, and cash conversion.
* Draft clear memos and presentations that explain assumptions, sensitivities, and risks to non-financial audiences.
* Contribute to budget cycles, monthly closes, and one-off analyses (FX exposure, procurement efficiencies, scenario planning).
* Maintain dashboards and scorecards, documenting methods to ensure transparency and repeatability.
What you'll gain
You will strengthen your modeling toolkit, learn to focus on what matters most, and experience firsthand how financial thinking drives both commercial and technical choices. Expect ongoing mentorship, practical guidance (version control, assumption discipline, data management), and the chance to contribute to deliverables that reach clients. Successful interns receive a completion certificate and a recommendation letter.
Candidate profile
* Currently studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, data/analytics, or related areas.
* Solid command of Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables, scenarios) with the ability to clean and organize raw data.
* Basic familiarity with Python or SQL is advantageous.
* Strong English writing skills (Arabic is an asset). Curious, dependable, and able to communicate complex matters simply and credibly.
Practical information
* Part-time, flexible schedule, fully remote.
* Unpaid internship focused on skill-building and portfolio development.
