You’ll oversee all depot functions while ensuring strong commercial discipline and financial accuracy to support sustainable growth. Your expertise in transport, food safety and Health & Safety compliance will be essential.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Overall responsibility for the site, the team and various functions, with a focus on building an inclusive, safe, and high‑performing culture.

* Full responsibility for food hygiene, HACCP, CCPs, temperature control, traceability and cold‑chain compliance.
* Ensure compliance with BRCGS, FORS and hygiene standards across the depot.
* Lead Health & Safety governance: risk assessments, SSOW, COSHH, fire safety, accident and near‑miss reporting, emergency procedures and RTITB/MHE compliance.
* Budget management, cost control, with targeted operational savings, and financial oversight including stock integrity and wastage reduction.
* Customer service improvements – ensuring continued improvements in delivery accuracy, reducing complaints and enhancing processes as we scale.
* Safe and compliant recruitment building a committed team.
* Monthly reporting of KPIs including OTIF, fulfilment accuracy, complaints, returns, wastage, driver performance and operational risks.
* Support our environmental strategy and b-Corp status.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* At least 5 years management experience within food industry.
* Strategic and operational thinking with a solutions‑focused mindset.
* Ability to embed change and build culture.
* Strong decision‑making under pressure with safety and product integrity prioritised.

* Proven team development and coaching capability.
* Experienced and effective recruiter with strong judgment and cultural alignment focus.
* Strong organisational skills, especially in a role with multiple priorities.
* As the lead on the London site, you need to be able to work autonomously while also communicating effectively with colleagues based in other parts of the UK.
