About the Role

As a Health Care Assistant (HCA), you’ll play an essential role in supporting the nursing team and wider multidisciplinary staff to ensure high‑quality, safe and compassionate care for patients and their whānau. This role involves a blend of clinical, technical and clerical tasks, always under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse.

Your day will include supporting patient personal cares, maintaining patient comfort and dignity, completing delegated clinical tasks once trained, restocking supplies, cleaning and preparing equipment, and assisting with patient flow. You’ll also help with basic administration tasks such as scanning, filing and supporting patient registration processes.

You are a key part of ensuring the unit runs smoothly – helping maintain a clean, safe environment, supporting patient needs promptly, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the clinical area.
