The Head of CURA Finance is a key team member responsible for sustaining and supporting our consultancy finance functions, focusing on profit growth, customer satisfaction, and team management. This role reports to the AD for Finance and Corporate Services, who oversees the overall success of this service.
Main duties of the job
The ability to work across the SLT and ensure effective management of the CURA finance function within Operations, Transformation, or Enabling functions is crucial. Building strong relationships with SLT members and understanding their capacities is essential for success.
Strategy Development & Business Planning
* Develop strategic vision for growth while maintaining high-quality service delivery
* Maintain and grow relationships with AISMA accountants
* Ensure efficiency and profitability of the department
* Manage the accountant and bookkeeping team
* Possess knowledge of Xero
* Lead annual budgeting, align with operational and strategic priorities
* Prepare rolling forecasts and scenario planning for agile decision-making

Partnership Accounts
* Manage prior shares, drawings allocation, NHS pensions, performers list requirements, current, property, and capital accounts
* Handle GP practice funding processes (GMS, LCS, Public Health, CQRS, PPA, Retainer/Mat/Locum Claims)
* Oversee monthly management accounts, balance sheet controls, and reconciliation
* Prepare year-end accounts
* Present clear financial positions to the Partnership Board
PCN Accounts
* Understand ARRS framework, funding rules, DES, and funding streams
* Monthly management accounts, balance sheet controls, and reconciliation
* Present financial positions to the PCN Board
* Prepare year-end accounts
External Representation
* Represent ABC in external meetings, ensuring alignment with our mission and values, providing innovative solutions, and identifying external opportunities for strategy advancement
