Role description: As a Senior Cost Consultant (or Cost Consultant, depending on experience and RICS status) within our PM/CM team, you will play a pivotal role in providing cost and commercial management services for clients across a range of technically complex infrastructure projects in Bristol and the West of England You will be based in our Bristol office and work closely with internal teams, clients, external contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure cost control, value, and successful project outcomes. Role accountabilities: Lead or support cost verification, reporting, and forecasting across major infrastructure projects. Provide commercial management advice, particularly in relation to the NEC suite of contracts. Manage and process changes in accordance with contract terms and project requirements. Conduct detailed evaluations of cost data, payroll, and contract audits. Analyse and review data, identifying trends to provide actionable recommendations for commercial decision-making. Collaborate across teams to support project delivery, applying technical knowledge to meet cost expectations. Present project risks and issues to senior managers to mitigate adverse impacts. Mentor and coach junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices. Prepare and present clear, concise reports and recommendations to clients and supply chain. Travel to various project sites across the West of England Qualifications & Experience: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Chartered MRICS status desirable for Senior Cost Consultant roles; candidates working towards chartership will also be considered for Cost Consultant positions. Relevant experience in infrastructure sectors (rail or highways preferred) with practical knowledge of NEC contracts. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with cost systems (e.g., Oracle) is an advantage. Ability to interpret and manage complex data sets. Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills. Organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
