JOB BAND: B
CONTRACT TYPE: 2x FTC's available. 1st contract: 15/06/2026-22/01/2027. 2nd contract: 29/06/2026-15/01/2027
DEPARTMENT: BBC Children's & Education
LOCATION: Salford (Hybrid- 3 x office days)
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,000 - £35,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Children's and Education are looking for Researchers to join the office team on the Bitesize Careers Tour to help deliver careers advice and inspiration to 110,000 secondary school pupils. The aim of this role is to assist the teams on the road in recruiting panellists from a variety of businesses across the UK.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Researchers will work closely with the Assistant Producer and Producer to recruit a diverse mix of panellists that reflect young audiences across the UK.
- Help devise and deliver content for secondary school audiences.
- Ensure editorial standards are met, production values kept high and that safeguarding procedures are followed.
- You will work closely with our tour teams to ensure all parties have the relevant information, detail and deliverables for each event.
- Conduct thorough background checks to ensure all BBC safeguarding standards are met.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Interest in creating and delivering educational content and activities that inspire secondary aged audiences, with the ability to cast relevant contributors.
• Knowledge of TV, film and creative talent that resonates with young people, and how to present content in engaging, age appropriate ways.
• Strong communication skills, with experience liaising with external partners including schools, educators and businesses.
• Demonstrable knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and experience working with young audiences.
• Willingness to undertake a relevant BBC funded DBS check at the appropriate level if offered the role.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Basic editing skills via Premiere Pro is advantageous, but not essential.
- This role may require some travel and working away from home. Therefore, a full and clean UK driving licence is desirable.
