New Directions Education is recruiting passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teachers to work across a range of secondary schools in the Leeds area. We have opportunities for day‑to‑day supply, short‑term cover, and long‑term placements with the potential to progress into permanent roles.

About the Roles
You will be joining a pool of highly valued supply staff working across multiple Leeds secondary schools. Roles vary from:
Day‑to‑day supply: perfect for flexibility
Short‑term assignments: typically 1–6 weeks
Long‑term placements: full timetable responsibility, planning & marking included
Temp‑to‑perm opportunities in select schools
You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Geography lessons that ignite curiosity about the world and support students’ understanding of physical and human geography.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Deliver high‑quality lessons using set plans where required
Encourage critical thinking, enquiry, and geographical awareness
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Assess and track student progress
Contribute to departmental planning (long‑term roles)
Maintain a safe and positive learning environment
About You
We’re looking for teachers who are:
QTS‑qualified (or FE equivalent with suitable experience)
Experienced teaching Geography within a secondary setting
Strong communicators with excellent behaviour‑management skills
Adaptable, reliable, and confident when covering a variety of classes
Passionate about inspiring learners and bringing the subject to life
In possession of an Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply through New Directions)
ECTs and experienced teachers are both welcome.
