Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support to a SEN child, helping them engage with class activities and learning tasks.

* Support the child’s emotional and social development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and included.

* Adapt teaching materials and approaches to meet the individual needs of the child, under the guidance of the class teacher.

* Assist with classroom management and contribute to a calm, focused, and positive learning environment.

* Encourage independence by helping the child develop problem-solving, communication, and social interaction skills.

* Collaborate with school staff, including teachers and the SENCo, to monitor and support the child’s progress.

* Provide feedback on the child’s progress and well-being to the teaching team and parents when required.

What we’re looking for:

* Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is desirable but not essential.

* A patient, caring, and approachable personality that helps build trust with children.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with children, teachers, and parents.

* A genuine passion for making a positive impact and supporting children with additional needs.

* Proactive, adaptable, and ready to meet the unique needs of each child.

* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or similar) is desirable but not essential.

* A positive, can-do attitude.

Why join Protocol Education?

* Weekly Pay: Enjoy the benefit of weekly pay at £13.67 – £15.00 per hour.

* Temp-to-Perm Opportunities: For the right candidate, this position could become permanent.

* Supportive Environment: Our team is here to help you succeed with ongoing support and guidance.

* Variety & Flexibility: Gain valuable experience working in different primary schools in the Maldon area.

* Professional Development: Access training and development opportunities to build your career.
