About the Role Working with the relevant Lead Engineer, the Design Engineer will be responsible for both the continual product development of the existing machines in our range and the design & development of our next generation of mobile environmental equipment. The successful applicant will be able to: Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and the continual improvement of the existing Ecotec Range. Work with a team to investigate and address customer complaints, assist in the resolution of problems at the root cause quickly and effectively, implementing engineering changes where required Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability Provide the Ecotec dealer network with the required support and service that they require, answering technical queries from dealers and customers Produce a full design package for manufacturing including detailed drawings, exploded drawings, engineering BOMs etc. Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers. Follow group standards of in the areas of quality, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing Follow group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative.
