Derbyshire Advanced Motorcyclists seeks a volunteer Treasurer to join our friendly Committee and support safer, more advanced motorcycling across Derbyshire. This key Trustee role helps keep the group running smoothly and sustainably.

* Support transparency and trust for our members
* Maximise the value of member subscriptions through Gift Aid
* Enable the group to focus on training, rider development, and road safety
Good financial stewardship allows our instructors, observers, and volunteers to concentrate on what they do best – supporting riders.
What are we looking for?
* Good attention to detail and integrity
* Confidence using spreadsheets, email, and online banking
* Ability to explain figures clearly to the Committee
* Willingness to act as a charity trustee
* Ability to work collaboratively with other volunteers
* Ideally 3+ years of experience in financial management
Charity experience is helpful but not essential – support and handover will be provided.

What will you be doing?
* Maintain clear records of income, payments, assets, and liabilities
* Provide regular financial updates to the Committee
* Ensure subscriptions are tracked and communicated to the Membership Secretary
* Submit the financial information required by IAM RoadSmart
* Prepare annual accounts, arrange an independent review, and present them to members at the AGM
* Ensure Gift Aid is claimed annually, maximising income for the group
* Complete required returns to IAM RoadSmart and the Charity Commission on time
You won’t be working alone – you’ll be part of a supportive Committee, and outgoing Treasurers are available to help with handover.
You don’t need to be an accountant.
* Is organised and reliable
* Is comfortable using spreadsheets and email
* Has basic internet skills
* Can work collaboratively with others
* Has good interpersonal and communication skills
An interest in motorcycling or road safety is a bonus, but not essential.
The workload is manageable and seasonal, with slightly busier periods around year‑end and the AGM. Much of the role can be carried out at home and at times that suit you.
