An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Mental Health and Rehab Occupational Therapist, to join our fantastic private service in Port Talbot, Glamorgan. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week, for an ongoing period.
The Occupational Therapist in post will be working within an adult mental health and rehabilitation service, providing specialist assessment and treatment to patients with a range of moderate to complex personality disorders. In this role, you will work closely with individuals facing mental health issues and those in need of rehabilitation services, providing comprehensive occupational therapy interventions that empower clients to achieve their highest level of functioning and independence.
Duties will include:
1. Care-coordinating
2. Attending MDT meetings
3. Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
4. Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
5. Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
6. Working with other healthcare professionals
The Successful Candidate should be/have:
7. A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
8. They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
9. An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
10. Excellent communication and time management skills
11. Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
12. Car driver is essential
