Director of Patient Access and Diagnostics


Executive Grade D - £86,094- £110,296 per annum

This post is open to NHS Lanarkshire employees only.


The Role

Reporting directly into the Director of Acute Services, the post holder is responsible for leading, implementing and the ongoing delivery of organisation wide elements of the Boards transformation and reform programme within the acute hospital sites for Patient Access and Diagnostics.

This post will provide strategic leadership to the Patient Access agenda for NHS Lanarkshire with primary responsibility for the development and subsequent implementation of the Board’s Recovery Plan, Scheduled Care Capacity Plan, and achievement of National Access targets. The post holder will establish effective governance and monitoring systems to provide oversight and assurance of performance against National Access Targets and local trajectories as outlined in the Board’s Annual Operating Plan.

The post holder will lead and drive interventions to improve and maximise productivity across all specialties, for example, advise, guide and challenge Acute Directors and their teams to maximise productivity across all specialties. The post holder will be the key relationship manager with the Scottish Government National Access Team in respect of NHS Lanarkshire’s performance against National Access targets.
