About the Role

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and experience
* To develop the ethos of the setting and to create a safe, clean, welcoming and family friendly environment.
* To have a good understanding of all policies and procedures, to interpret them thoughtfully, consistently and tactfully, and ensure all policies and procedures are followed by everyone in the team.
* To be responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of care and education of children between 0 to 5 years in accordance with the EYFS guidance.
* To ensure that the Nursery meets all relevant statutory requirements (the EYFS, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, etc), including the requirements of Ofsted.
* To proactively lead best practice through research of national and local policy developments and reflection upon practice.
* To be an excellent role model, lead a team and support colleagues by undertaking own duties diligently, maintaining good communication, sharing ideas and being professional and respectful.
* To exercise a general duty of care for colleagues and to be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, students and volunteers under the supervision.
* To evaluate the quality of the provision and outcomes through robust self-evaluation, taking account of the views of parents and children, and use the findings to develop capacity for sustainable improvement.
* To uphold the standards of the nursery at all times, both during and outside working hours and to be an ambassador for the Nursery both within the Company and in the wider community.
* To undertake and lead on additional roles, where appropriate, such as SENCO, Health and Safety representative, Fire Marshal etc.
* To act as a Nominated Safeguarding Person of the Nursery
* To deal with all disciplinary and grievance matters within the Nursery, seeking advice and support from the Area Manager and Directors where necessary.
· At least 5 years of professional experience in working and caring for children under 5 within a nursery environment (Essential)
· Experience as a Nursery Manager of day to day management, meeting occupancy targets and budgetary oversight (Essential)
Qualifications:
· NVQ Level 5 in Childcare or equivalent
