The Prince of Wales Hospice provides specialist palliative care in the Five Towns area (Pontefract, Castleford, Knottingley, Normanton, Featherstone and surrounding area) to people whose illness is no longer curable. Are you a qualified accountant with experience of a range of disciplines which you can use to help shape local charitable Hospice care? Can you bring passion, dedication and motivation to champion our Hospice? Our previous Finance Trustee is stepping down after 13 years and we are looking to recruit a new Trustee to ensure that we can deliver on our missions and vision. You can make a real difference to Hospice care by becoming a Trustee and our Trustees play a vital role in shaping the future of our Hospice services. You will be supported by a stable and capable finance team, who manage the day to day operational matters. Your role will be to ensure that you have the strategic oversight of the financial position and investments, communicating with the Director of Finance on these matters. You will need to be able to explain the risk associated with different aspects of the strategic plan, comment on the audit reports (including internal audits) and lead financial discussions at Board.
