Salary:27,000 to 37,000 dependant on experience (performance related bonus)

Hours: 4050 hours per week, including weekends and evenings during peak periods. Flexibility required.
Role Purpose
The On-Site Manager is responsible for the operational, compliance, and people management of a Delivery Service Partner site. This role ensures that packages are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with Amazons service level agreements. The position combines workforce management, vehicle and site oversight, safety compliance, and performance monitoring. The On-Site Manager acts as the key link between Delivery Associates, leadership, and station management.
Key Responsibilities1. Operational Leadership
* Oversee daily multi-drop delivery operations, ensuring on-time dispatch and delivery completion.
* Develop and manage delivery schedules, balancing staffing and vehicle resources.
* Monitor real-time package flow, route execution, and service performance, taking corrective action where required.
* Scale operations effectively during seasonal peaks and promotional periods.
2. Driver & Staff Management
* Recruit, train, and retain Delivery Associates, building a reliable and motivated workforce.
* Conduct daily stand-up briefings, safety refreshers, and performance updates.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to drivers to improve safety, efficiency, and customer experience.
* Manage attendance, rosters, and disciplinary matters in line with company policies.
* Promote staff recognition, wellbeing, and retention to reduce turnover.
3. Vehicle & Site Management
* Ensure all delivery vans are inspected daily, roadworthy, and compliant with DfT and insurance requirements.
* Oversee vehicle allocation, fuel management, and maintenance schedules.
* Maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient delivery station environment, conducting regular health & safety checks.
4. Safety & Compliance
* Enforce safety standards and compliance requirements.
* Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and driver hour limitations.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, or infractions, documenting findings and ensuring remedial actions.
* Maintain accurate driver qualification files, safety logs, and compliance reports.
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
* Track and report on KPIs, including:
o On-Time Dispatch (OTD)
o Delivery Completion Rate
o Customer Delivery Experience (CDE) metrics
o DA safety scorecards and infractions
o Package scan accuracy and compliance
* Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for leadership and representatives.
* Use data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
6. Budget & Cost Control
* Monitor overtime, payroll, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance costs.
* Ensure resource allocation delivers cost efficiency without compromising safety or service quality.
* Support DSP leadership in meeting financial and contractual obligations with Amazon.
7. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as the primary contact point for Amazon station management, escalations, and performance reviews.
* Maintain open and professional communication with drivers, DSP leadership, and external stakeholders.
* Represent the DSP on operational calls, audits, and compliance reviews.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
* Previous experience in logistics, multi-drop delivery, transport management, or operations.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
* Excellent organisational, scheduling, and time management skills.
* Knowledge of safety regulations, transport compliance, and HSE requirements.
* Strong IT skills, including Excel, delivery management systems, and real-time tracking tools.
* Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and peak seasons.
Desirable
* Previous experience with DSP operations or similar last-mile providers.
* Fleet management and route optimisation knowledge.
* Valid UK driving licence with clean record (ability to operate vans desirable).
* Recognised qualification in logistics, transport, or management.
