The post holder will provide specialist mental health advice and support and will undertake specialist patient mental health assessments, providing specialist short term interventions with a focus on recovery and management. Additionally the role will entail liaising effectively with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, patients and families as well as providing education to staff on the mental capacity act, DOLS, safeguarding, conflict resolution and restraint. Previous experience, and currently working at Band 5 or above, within a relevant clinical setting such as forensic, specialist mental health, ED mental health Liaison, challenging learning disability services, or Neurosciences. Proven management skills.
Leadership skills - Ability to work within the multi professional team Commitment to working in partnership with patients and carers. Able to use simple IT (outlook, word & Excel). Fully conversant in Mental Health ACT, mental capacity and DOLS. Experience of safeguarding simple & complex.
Experience of restraint and conflict resolution. Experience of facilitating education and training to small and large groups. Excellent oral and written communicator. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team or on own initiative.
