Job Overview

The Facilities Supervisor is a member of the LPT Estates and Facilities team. The postholder will support the Facilities Co-ordinator in delivering high-quality soft facilities services and will be responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of local site services and facilities on a day-to-day basis.

Working 37.5 hours per week, the postholder is expected to work various shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays.

The postholder reports to the Facilities Co-ordinator and ensures all services are delivered in accordance with National Standards, are compliant, and that patients and visitors are in a safe and appropriate environment. Staff should be able to effectively deliver the required care. The postholder may deputise for the Facilities Co-ordinator when needed.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, possess good communication, organizational skills, and an analytical approach to problem-solving. They should be capable of promoting the Facilities department, presenting a customer-focused service, and developing new skills while staying updated with technological advancements.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties and Responsibilities)

1. Line management of Facilities staff.
2. Produce orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
3. Raise requisitions (using Saffron), receipting goods, inspecting deliveries, and processing invoices.
4. Provide leadership and guidance to Facilities staff, supervising multiple roles, and promoting operational excellence, excellent customer service, and staff engagement.
5. Ensure staff adhere to the Trust's colour coding system to prevent cross-infection.
6. Oversee staff preparing and regenerating patient meals at ward level, following Trust Food Safety policies.
7. Report defects immediately using the approved systems.
8. Implement deep cleaning procedures, including hydrogen peroxide decontamination, steam cleaning, carpet cleaning, and changing curtains.
