Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter:
Installation and Assembly:
Fitting and assembling prepared parts and sub-assemblies to make machinery and equipment.
Routine Maintenance:
Conducting planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment longevity and minimize downtime.
Fault Finding and Repair:
Identifying and fixing faults in machinery and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Emergency Response:
Responding to emergency breakdowns and carrying out repairs promptly and efficiently.
Parts Replacement:
Replacing worn or damaged components and ensuring equipment is in good working order.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and any other relevant information.
Travel and Flexibility:
Covering a wide geographic area and potentially working at different sites or customer locations.
Health and Safety:
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance:
If required, maintaining and ensuring the safe operation of company vehicles, including completing vehicle checks and adhering to tachograph regulations.
Typical Tasks for a Maintenance Fitter:
Installing pipework, valves, pumps, and motors.
Carrying out planned maintenance checks on machinery and equipment.
Finding and fixing faults in machinery and equipment.
Replacing worn parts and resetting instrument controls.

Hours of work
Split shifts days and nights across several sites in London.
Days 6am -4pm
Nights 10pm- 6am
Plus overtime.
