NSS PLUS LTD-NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants, with a background of Brain Injury and Mental Health experience, to support services users with an Acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation, and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life. We are looking for Psychology Graduates, Support Workers, and Healthcare Assistants, or other suitable candidates, who would be willing to support people, both within their home environment, and also willing to provide support in helping our clients access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently, and providing empirical feedback where necessary. Job Title: Support Worker Location: Malmesbury, Wiltshire, SN16 Hourly Rate: £12.50-£14 per hour depending on experience. Driver Essential? Yes Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Monday: 10am - 3pm Tuesday: 10am - 3pm Wednesday: 10am - 3pm Thursday: 10am - 3pm Friday: 10am - 3pm Required activites: - To support the client in maintaining as much independence where able, and to support with his personal care morning routine. - To assist with the hoist transfers from bed to his wheelchair. - To assist with meal preparation, eating etc. - To assist with therapy sessions, and to help devise and implement a programme of activities at the nursing home and wider community to improve client’s quality of life. - To assist the client with his urinary catheter in situ. In the future the client would like to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle, and for the support worker to be able to drive. In the meantime we are exploring WAV services. The support worker will take the client to local places of interest. About our client: Our client is a 47-year-old male, who has an acquired brain injury.The client sustained a traumatic brain injury and has a left sided weakness, he is unable to weight-bear, and all transfers are currently with a hoist and assistance of 2 people. The client has some dysphasia, but communicates well verbally, has some cognitive impairment, but has a great sense of humour, and responds to humour well.
