While most organizations apply AI to conventional education frameworks as a supplementary layer, 2 Hour Learning has pursued a fundamentally different path: we have reconstructed the school model from its foundation, leveraging AI and learning science to eliminate the limitations inherent in traditional classrooms. This position is not a conventional product management function centered on iterative feature releases or customer feedback cycles. This is an executive‑level technical product ownership role in which you will control the architecture, technical direction, and AI integration across our entire learning platform. You will be accountable for the critical technical tradeoffs that keep our products lean, scalable, and relentlessly oriented toward student outcome improvement. You will adopt the mindset of a CTO while operating with the velocity of a product entrepreneur, merging engineering rigor with learning science principles to continuously deliver breakthroughs.

What You Will Be Doing
* Building and maintaining deep expertise in education products to inform strategic decisions
* Creating technical specifications that resolve critical technical choices and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability
* Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering workflows, in alignment with the strategic objective of minimizing manual effort
What You Won’t Be Doing
* Exclusively managing people; this role depends critically on your business insight and technical judgment
* Spending time on meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; we have automated managerial burdens so you can concentrate on generating business value through direct execution
* Proposing abstract strategies without actionable implementation details; your guidance must be grounded in product‑level analysis
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, controlling core competencies and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership
Basic Requirements
* Deep experience or interest in data‑driven learning science
* 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies
* 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
* 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue‑generating product
* Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
* Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes

Working with us
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
