We are looking for a commercially focused General Manager from the lifting industry to help move our sales and service offering forward in the UK. Based in the Midlands, but travelling throughout the UK, you will have experience in selling capital equipment and maintenance/service contracts.
Salary: GBP 80,000 - GBP 90,000

Job Description: General Manager, Strategic Sales Manager in Industrial, Heavy industrial manufacturing.
Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, you will be succeeding a retiring General Manager with circa 30 years of service. This role offers significant opportunities to influence and drive customer engagement, overseeing a business segment with a turnover of approximately GBP 7m, split between GBP 5m equipment sales and GBP 2m service revenue. You will manage 5 direct reports and 15 indirect reports across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop UK Sales and Service teams to meet revenue targets aligned with company goals.
* Set sales objectives and strategies, motivating the team accordingly.
* Oversee leadership functions including coaching, motivation, performance management, recruitment, and training.
* Manage a team of Key Account Managers / National Account Managers, providing mentorship and support.
* Develop the aftersales and service team to maximize revenue and relevance.
* Report sales performance regularly to the Managing Director and organization.
* Conduct market analysis to stay aware of competition and economic indicators.
Person Specification:
* Proven track record in sales and people leadership, ideally within capital equipment manufacturing.
* Experience across Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, Plant, Truck and Bus, Off Highway, Military, Defence, Tram, or Rail sectors.
* Presence and gravitas to lead sales strategy and represent the company externally.
* Managed a sales budget of GBP 5-15 million.
* Experience with service offerings alongside capital equipment sales.
