About the opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team at Soben. In this role, you will support a key construction client in the region by developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies across various projects.
What you'll do
* Prepare cost estimates and cost plans for review, including benchmarking
* Develop value engineering and life cycle costing options
* Identify potential risks and maintain the risk register
* Participate in meetings related to pre-contract processes and contribute to procurement strategies
* Attend client and design team meetings, recording discussions and advising on cost implications
* Assist in lease negotiations and validation of tenant improvement allowances
* Contribute to the development of project templates
* Manage change order logs, invoice logs, and cost reports
* Research pricing and assist with measurements for development appraisals
* Draft and review pre-qualification questionnaires and responses
* Perform other duties as assigned
About you
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
* At least two years of experience in cost estimating
* Proficient in CostX and Microsoft Office applications
* Knowledge of construction technologies and sustainability trends
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Organized and detail-oriented
* Field experience is a plus
