About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Quantity Surveyor with strong mechanical experience to join a specialist MEP contractor based in Maidenhead. The role will involve supporting the cost management and commercial aspects of mechanical services across commercial and industrial projects, with particular focus on prefabrication, off-site manufacturing, and precast mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost plans and budgets for mechanical packages, including HVAC, pipework, and plant installations.
* Assess and manage procurement of mechanical services including prefabricated and modular systems.
* Conduct commercial evaluations and manage subcontractor packages and negotiations.
* Support projects involving precast installations, off-site manufactured plant rooms, and chilled water systems.
* Prepare and review valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure alignment between commercial and technical objectives.
* Attend site meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.

* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with mechanical (MEP) project exposure.
* Strong understanding of prefabricated mechanical assemblies, off-site construction, and site-based installation processes.
* Experience with chilled water systems, steel gantries, and package plant design coordination is preferred.
* Proficiency in QS documentation, valuations, and cost tracking systems.
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent).
* Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Requirements
Key Requirements: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Estimator in a building services or MEP contracting environment. Experience estimating for prefabricated mechanical systems, modular plant rooms, pipework systems, and steel support frameworks. Good understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water pipework, and public health installations. Ability to interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in Excel and relevant estimating tools. Desirable Experience: Background working with M&E contractors in the data centre, industrial, or commercial sectors. Understanding of fabrication and off-site construction methods. Familiarity with BIM models and digital take-off tools.
