About the Role
Your main responsibility as a Kitchen Assistant is to support the catering functions, including food preparation and maintaining a clean environment to ensure the safe production of meals and beverages, delivering high-quality service to residents.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Understanding safe food handling principles to ensure all food preparations meet hygiene standards.
2. Contributing to team efforts, responding positively to colleagues, and promptly acting on work instructions.
3. Advising on the supply and quality of items used for tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of supplies.
4. Respecting the dignity and individuality of residents and their visitors in all interactions.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should embody our values of caring, supportiveness, honesty, respect, and accountability.
Our ideal candidate will:
1. Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
2. Have knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
3. Be an efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort and responding to a demanding workload.
4. Show initiative and a positive, flexible attitude towards teamwork.
5. Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.
