IT Support Manager Based in Suffolk | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
We're working with a well-established UK business looking for an IT Support Manager to take ownership of their IT service desk and support function. This is a great opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role, managing both day-to-day IT support operations and a variety of internal infrastructure projects.
You'll be leading and mentoring a small IT support team, working closely with a managed service provider, and acting as the go-to escalation point across the organisation. Alongside this, you'll help shape the IT roadmap, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and future-ready.
Responsibilities
* Leading and mentoring the IT support team, setting high standards for customer service and technical delivery
* Acting as the final escalation point for IT issues, providing hands-on support where needed
* Managing and delivering internal IT projects (infrastructure, systems, upgrades)
* Working closely with suppliers and group IT to get the best value from technology partnerships
* Overseeing IT governance, standards, documentation, and security compliance
* Driving service improvements, performance metrics, and process ownership across IT support
* Taking responsibility for Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server environments, and endpoint management
Qualifications
* Previous experience managing and leading an IT support/helpdesk team
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Windows Server
* Solid infrastructure background with hands-on networking, cloud, and endpoint skills
* Understanding of IT governance, cyber security standards, and risk management
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
* A balance of technical expertise and customer-first leadership style
