This will be a fixed term, part time position (32.5 hours per week) until 21st July 2027. We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to support a delightful pupil with complex physical needs. You will work closely alongside a highly experienced Teaching Assistant, ensuring you are well supported as you develop confidence and expertise. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to build meaningful bonds with a child, while training in specialist skills such as hoisting, feeding and personalised care. Adults in our school are “on hand to listen” and pupils receive “the right support to enable them to be successful”, making this an ideal role for someone who is compassionate, patient and eager to grow their skills within a nurturing, values-led school. The successful applicant will: Hold a recognised and relevant NVQ level 2 qualification and have undertaken other appropriate training (preferably leading to national standards at NVQ level 3) or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills. Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A - C Have good communication and listening skills and be able to present information verbally and in writing to others. Have experience of TA work. Have attended further training on aspects of the curriculum or areas of specific special need. Have good level of knowledge and understanding of at least one area of learning (e.g. English, Maths, Science, EY). Understand school policies and how they relate to local and national frameworks / policies (e.g. child protection, health and safety, equal ops, SEN). Can use ICT effectively to support learning and use other technology equipment. Can plan own work when required. Can transfer theory / training into practice. Can solve problems and can exercise initiative and independent action. Is proactive in offering ideas.
