A welcoming primary school in Caterham is seeking a committed Year 5 Class Teacher to provide long-term cover. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher, or a confident ECT, who is looking for stability and the chance to make a real impact on pupils’ learning and progress.
You’ll be leading a settled Year 5 class, delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum, and working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency for pupils during this period of cover.
What We’re Looking For
1. A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent)
2. Experience teaching at Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
3. Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
4. A teacher who can adapt quickly, follow planning, and contribute to the wider school community
5. Enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine passion for teaching
Key Responsibilities
6. Full teaching responsibility for a Year 5 class
7. Delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils
8. Supporting pupils with different abilities to achieve their best outcomes
9. Managing behaviour in line with school policies
10. Working collaboratively with the year group team and SLT
11. Attending staff meetings, planning sessions, and contributing to school life
