If you are a highly skilled agile practitioner, passionate about delivering quality products, innovation, and continuous improvement join our dynamic team in the University of Oxford, a world-renowned institution.

About the Role

* The role of Senior Delivery Manager is to ensure the successful delivery of complex, high-risk products and services, either through defined project work or as part of the continuous improvement approach. Senior Delivery Managers have wide experience across a range of products and services, throughout the entire product life cycle, and have responsibility and accountability as the main point of escalation.
* The postholder will build and maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborative and efficient. They will identify obstacles to delivery and work with the team to overcome them, escalating where necessary. The Senior Delivery Manager role works closely with roles including the Product Owner / Programme Manager / Service Stream Manager to ensure delivery is in line with the product / service / project / portfolio vision.
* The postholder will support the Programme Manager / Service Stream Manager and Service Stream Product Owner in the forward planning of resource requirements, financial forecasting, monitoring of costs and budgets, and preparation of business cases in complex environments.
* The University is in the early stages of moving to a product-focused approach utilising Agile methodologies. The postholder will play a key role in this transition, coaching teams in Agile methodologies and instilling a product mindset focused on continuous improvement. The postholder will work with established service delivery teams as well as project teams.
* The postholder will work in one of the five Portfolios in IT Services: Education, Technology, Research, Engagement & Dissemination and Administration.

About You

* Proven experience as an Agile Delivery Manager, or in a similar role within digital services or product management, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and a track record of applying them effectively.
* A background in coaching and guiding teams, supporting less experienced colleagues in Continuous Improvement and Agile delivery. Experience in leading and motivating both business and technical staff, while collaborating effectively within wider multi-disciplinary teams.
* Strong expertise in estimating, budget setting, financial forecasting and monitoring, as well as resource management and scheduling in complex environments.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, as well as senior stakeholders.
