Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry, with manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. With over 20 years of experience, Proseal develops plastic-based alternatives to preserve food safety and has a strong international presence.
Shift Pattern / Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break each day.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and optimise CNC programs offline using CAM software (FeatureCAM, Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar).
* Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications to generate accurate toolpaths.
* Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies for various materials and components.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency.
* Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct potential issues before production.
* Maintain and update program libraries and documentation.
* Provide technical support to CNC machinists during set‑up and production runs.
* Operate machines when required, e.g., run trials or assist with production.
* Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees, report shortcomings, sponsor the use of BBSO and near‑miss reporting.
* Actively promote a safe working environment, empowering staff to report and act, and adopt the stop‑work authority process.
* Maintain a good understanding of the Proseal product range and keep up to date with modifications and improvements.
* Use Microsoft Office to update plans and select material to order or from available stock.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in CNC programming, preferably in a precision engineering or high‑spec manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in CAM software and understanding of G‑code and CNC machine operations.
* Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with ISO standards and quality control processes is a plus.
Preferred Education and Experience
* 3+ years of experience in CNC programming, with a focus on offline programming.
