We are a national organisation delivering housing services across England and now seek an Information Governance Manager to join our team in Oldham. In this role you will act as Deputy Data Protection Officer, leading the Information Governance team to promote and develop the effective and lawful use of data and information throughout Guinness.
You will lead the team to manage legislative compliance, respond to Information Rights requests, and handle complaints related to information governance. You will also investigate and provide advice on high‑risk information security incidents and manage the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements and Building Safety Legislation provisions.
What we’re looking for
We value the ability to communicate complex concepts and legislation to non‑technical staff. You should have solid experience in Information Governance and Data Protection and demonstrate strong analytical and leadership skills.
Essential skills and experience
* Proven experience of dealing with and advising on Information Governance matters.
* Experience of working within a Data Protection function.
* Knowledge of up-to-date data protection legal requirements and best practice.
* Proven experience of dealing with Information Rights requests and information security breaches, including liaising with the ICO.
* Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts/legislation to non‑technical staff.
* Experience of managing a team.
* Knowledge of social housing.
* Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or higher.
