Role Summary
Community Mind Connect is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our team on a voluntary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to raising awareness of our vital work and engaging with the Lancaster community. Working closely with the Founder, responsible for marketing/communication], the Marketing Assistant will support the development and implementation of CMC’s marketing and communications activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Social Media Management: Assist with the planning, creation, and scheduling of engaging content for CMC’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
* Content Creation: Support the creation of marketing materials, including website content, blog posts, newsletters, flyers, and promotional graphics (using provided templates or basic design tools).
* Website Updates: Assist with updates to the CMC website content.
* Email Marketing: Support the creation and distribution of email newsletters and marketing campaigns.
* Event Promotion: Assist with the promotion of CMC events and workshops through online and offline channels.
* Market Research: Assist with basic market research to understand audience needs and preferences.
* Brand Awareness: Help to maintain and promote CMC’s brand identity.
* Photography and Videography: Assist with capturing photos and short videos at CMC events and activities (if applicable and with appropriate permissions).
* Media Liaison: Assist with building relationships with local media outlets (if required).
* Monitoring and Reporting: Track the performance of marketing activities and provide basic reports.
Desirable Skills / Experience
* Experience using social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
* Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva).
* Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
* Photography or videography skills.
* Understanding of marketing principles.
* Experience in the charity/non-profit sector.
* Familiarity with the Lancaster community.

* Enthusiastic about marketing and communications.
* Creative and has an eye for visual content.
* Organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
* Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in using social media platforms.
* Has basic IT skills, including email and word processing.
* Has a genuine interest in the work of Community Mind Connect and a desire to promote our mission.

* Photography/Videography Skills: Ability to take basic photos or videos for social media or promotional materials.

* Familiarity with Website Content Management Systems (CMS): Understanding of how to update website content (WIX).
* Experience in the Charity/Non-Profit Sector: Awareness of the unique marketing challenges and opportunities in this sector.
* Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Lancaster community and local media outlets.
