We are seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school community in Ockendon.
This role is ideally suited for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with a background in youth work or coaching. You will be the face of the classroom, ensuring that learning continues smoothly even when the regular teacher is away.
Your Responsibilities
* Classroom Management: Oversee classes across various subjects, ensuring students follow the schools behaviour and inclusion policies.
* Facilitating Learning: Deliver pre:set work provided by the department, helping students understand instructions and stay on task.
* Safe Environment: Maintain a focused, calm, and productive atmosphere for all pupils.
* Effective Reporting: Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher regarding lesson progress and any notable student achievements or incidents.
* Professionalism: Act as a positive role model and build rapport with students and the wider school staff.
What You Need
* Experience: Previous experience working with groups of 11:16 year:olds (in schools, clubs, or community groups).
* Qualifications: Strong GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above). A degree is preferred for those pursuing a career in teaching.
* Skills: Exceptional communication, resilience, and the confidence to lead a room of 30+ students.
* Requirements: Must have an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (Randstad can assist with a new application if needed).
