We are recruiting on behalf of a Michelin-recognised pub with rooms located in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading a high-quality, fresh food kitchen across both restaurant service and guest dining.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Lead service across restaurant and rooms dining periods
Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
Oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chefs absence
Maintain excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards
Assist with menu development, specials, and seasonal changes
Manage stock control, ordering, and waste reduction
Train, support, and develop junior kitchen team members
About You
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up
Background in fresh food, gastropub, or quality restaurant kitchens
Michelin or Bib Gourmand experience desirable but not essential
Strong leadership skills with the ability to run a smooth service
Calm, organised, and confident under pressure
Passionate about seasonal produce and high-quality execution
Strong team player with a proactive, hands-on approach
