CNC Machinist – Mazak (Mazatrol Programmer)
Location: Cramlington
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week (2-week rotating shifts)

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong Mazak and Mazatrol programming skills to join our precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in a professional and supportive environment with access to advanced CNC machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the daily operations of our Mazak CNC machines.
2. Set and operate Mazak CNC machines using Mazatrol programming.
3. Work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
4. Select appropriate cutting tools and determine correct cutting speeds.
5. Plan the most efficient sequence of operations for each job.
6. Safely position materials and inspect raw materials for quality and specification compliance.
7. Conduct routine maintenance of machine tools.
8. Inspect finished components to verify dimensions meet required specifications.
9. Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings.
Skills & Experience Required:
10. Proven experience in CNC milling and/or turning.
11. Essential experience with Mazak CNC machines and Mazatrol programming .
12. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
13. Strong grasp of basic mathematics, including geometry and algebra.
14. Good visualisation skills and attention to detail.
15. Knowledge of various material properties used in machining.
16. Experience using precision measuring tools and gauges.
17. Live tooling experience is an advantage.
Shift Pattern & Pay:
18. Basic Hourly Rate: £15.37
19. Shift Premium: Additional one-third uplift, equivalent to £20.50 per hour
20. Annual Salary (inclusive of shift premium): £37,310
21. Shift Rotation:
Week 1: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 2:30pm
Week 2: Monday – Friday, 2:30pm – 10:00pm
Note: Shift patterns are subject to change based on business needs and may include night shifts.
Overtime Rates:
22. Monday to Saturday: 1.5x basic hourly rate
23. Sunday: 2x basic hourly rate
