Job summary

The NIHR (National Institute of Health and Care Research) Yorkshire and Humber Regional Research Delivery Network is looking for a passionate and strategic leader to drive public engagement and inclusion in research.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact working with our diverse communities, health and social care partners and national stakeholders to ensure research is accessible, inclusive and meaningful for everyone.

You will have excellent communication, facilitation and engagement skills and have experience of working in community engagement and with underserved groups. You will build trusted relationships, spot opportunities to do things differently and help colleagues navigate new ways of working. You'll bring curiosity, empathy and confidence when working with a wide range of groups and you will enjoy the challenge of influencing across different settings.

This role is a part time position (0.6 WTE, 22.5 hrs per week). We offer a hybrid, flexible working policy with offices in Leeds and Sheffield.

Main duties of the job

The Regional Community Engagement and Inclusion Manager will act as a strategic lead for engagement and inclusion across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

In this role, you will work in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including community groups, ICBs and NIHR partners, to ensure a coordinated approach to public engagement and research inclusion across health, care and community settings. Your main duties will include:

Leading initiatives that amplify public voices and embed inclusion in research delivery

Build strong partnerships with communities, researchers and health systems

Contribute to national and regional strategies that shape the future of health and care research

The NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), to enable the health and care system to attract, optimise and deliver research across England. We do this as part of NIHRs overall mission to improve the health and the wealth of the nation through research.

The RDN supports the countrys world-class research system to deliver high-quality research that enables the best care for our population.

We cover the whole of England and consist of 12 Regional Research Delivery Networks (RRDNs) and a Coordinating Centre (RDNCC), working together as one.

* In depth understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and challenges related to equality, diversity and inclusion across the health and care research landscape.
* Experience of managing and delivering patient and public led engagement opportunities at a local and national level (including local events, online workshops and consultations)
