Are you ready to make a difference as a Utility Surveyor? In this exciting role, you will leverage your technical expertise to provide exceptional service to our customers, all while prioritizing safety. Your mission will be to identify, evaluate, and quantify the work needed to maintain contract specification safety clearances from overhead electrical networks.
This position is part of our esteemed arboriculture and infrastructure vegetation management division, known for its safe and efficient delivery of services. Operating across the Midlands and the South East from our Ledbury and Hermitage offices, we manage numerous strategic, long-term contracts.
Key Responsibilities
* Understand Industry Standards: Familiarize yourself with the relevant legislation and safety guidelines for arboricultural work.
* Conduct Risk Assessments: Recognize the importance of site-specific risk assessments and establish robust emergency procedures.
* Prepare Work Packs: Collate work packs that align with contract specifications to empower our operational arborists.
* Engage with Stakeholders: Liaise with private landowners and other stakeholders to secure consent for our projects.
* Identify Safety Zones: Understand and identify safety zones, recognizing their inherent dangers.
* Ensure Safety: Prioritize your safety and that of others on site.
* Mentor Junior Team Members: Coach and guide junior members of the team to foster their growth.
* Collaborate with the Delivery Team: Work closely with the wider team to ensure work is tracked and completed according to client requirements.
* Work Autonomously: Enjoy the freedom of working independently while consistently delivering a first-class service.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience: A minimum of 2 years in arboriculture.
* Certifications: Hold UA1, 2.1, and UA5 certifications.
* Additional Competencies: Any extra qualifications will be considered an advantage.
