About the Department The First Line Risk team provides specialist services that enable HTB's strategic growth objectives, protect the bank's regulatory record and seek to ensure that our customers are receiving good outcomes. We do this by managing centres of operational excellence for Financial Crime, Complaints and Quality Assurance and by providing expert risk leadership in Operational Resilience, Third Party Risk Management and our broader Operational and IT Risks. Key Responsibilities CDIO Risk & Control Support the Chief Data and Information Officer (CDIO) and Direct reports in ensuring CDIO risks, are accurately documented with appropriate controls in place, to ensure risks are managed within appetite and that the environment is strictly compliant with Policy, ensuring: RCSA risks are accurate and updated in a timely manner by risk owners. Controls are accurate and operated by control owners as designed and control action plans accurately documented and reported. Ongoing Identification of control weaknesses and the ability to propose remediation or automation opportunities. Risk events and incidents follow the correct procedures, ensuring they are managed effectively and post event actions are taken as required and the risk profile is updated accordingly and in a timely manner. Audit Co-ordination and Management Responsibility for ensuring that IT Audits are co-ordinated and managed in a controlled manner, ensuring the senior leadership team take accountability for their areas of responsibility and fully co-operate with the Audit Team, the incumbent will: Manage both internal audits and external annual audits are co-ordinated and managed effectively. Includes all aspects of the audit process that involve CDIO, from obtaining an understanding of the annual plan to individual audit scopes and the management of information requested and provided to auditors. Manage data requests for internal audit purposes from all other business areas such as Finance and HR. Support continuous improvement of audit processes and governance frameworks. Governance Ensure that risk system and other formal documentation is accurate and up to date, providing management information when required, either for routine meetings or as requested by the CDIO or direct reports, the incumbent will: Ensure risk management meetings and routines are designed and operate effectively. Key CDIO Governance and Performance meetings operate in control. Collaborate with Service Owners and Third Party Risk Management, IT Suppliers are managed in accordance with TPRM Policy and framework requirements. Manage CDIO Risk routines, such as RCSA and KRI refreshes and changes, and governance meetings ensuring inputs and outputs meet CDIO and wider HTB requirements. In addition the role holder must make sure that CDIO risk reporting is submitted accurately and in a timely manner to other risk meetings and formal committees. Required Skills & Experience Demonstrable experience in a Risk Management and Governance role that includes significant IT focus within financial servies Previous experience co-ordinating and managing internal and external audit engagements. Preferred experience in relevant product lines (specialist mortgages, bridging, development finance or savings) although consumer credit or other banking areas will be considered. Desirable experience managing physical security and facilities risk. Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to adapt communication for technical teams and vice versa. A self-starter with a high level of initiative and professionalism An ability to manage timelines and workflows, recasting them as the business directs and assisting that business in planning and understanding the impacts of their requirements.
