The role
As Roma continues its exciting growth journey, we're enhancing the systems, processes, and digital capabilities that support how we work. Technology plays a central part in enabling our people to operate efficiently, confidently, and with clarity — and our Technical Business Analyst will be key to making that happen.
This role is responsible for translating complex business needs into clear, structured technical requirements and supporting the delivery of effective, scalable solutions. You'll work across systems, data, workflows and third‑party platforms, ensuring changes are understood, well‑designed, and successfully implemented. From facilitating workshops and documenting processes to analysing system behaviour, supporting configuration, and guiding solution design, this role is central to bridging the gap between business requirements and technical delivery.
It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, understands how systems work, and thrives in a role where analytical thinking meets practical delivery. You'll work across the full lifecycle of technical change, develop new technical skills, and play a major role in shaping how Roma uses technology to operate smarter and more efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements, Analysis & Solution Design
Plan and facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and technical discussions to elicit and document clear, unambiguous requirements.
Translate business needs into structured specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria to support accurate and effective delivery.
Analyse current and future system behaviour, data flows and technical configurations to identify gaps, opportunities and risks.
Work closely with change colleagues to shape solution design, ensuring proposals are aligned, feasible and able to deliver the required outcomes.
System Configuration & Technical Delivery
Take ownership of administering and configuring internal systems, including managing permissions, workflows, settings and low‑code/no‑code capabilities.
Support feasibility assessments, impact analysis and options appraisal to help stakeholders choose the most suitable approach.
Collaborate with internal teams and third‑party software providers to ensure smooth coordination and accurate solution delivery.
Data, Reporting & Process Improvement
Build a strong understanding of business data, data flows and reporting needs.
Produce detailed reporting specifications and work with the Data team to validate outputs and sign off final reports.
Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimisation and the application of AI tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Promote continuous improvement by challenging existing processes and recommending enhancements.
Testing, Documentation & BAU Transition
Support testing activities by validating requirements, coordinating UAT, and ensuring solutions meet acceptance criteria.
Produce clear documentation — including functional specifications, process flows, release notes and user guides.
Support the transition of new solutions into BAU, ensuring seamless handover and successful adoption.
Investigate system‑related issues, perform root‑cause analysis and work with suppliers to resolve problems promptly.
Identify and escalate dependencies, risks and issues to protect delivery timelines.
Person Specification
You'll be analytical, curious, collaborative, and confident working in both business and technical domains. You bring strong communication skills, a structured approach, and the ability to translate complexity into clarity. You enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and helping the organisation make better use of its technology.
