The Opportunity:

My client is a communications company currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer to work within their Network Operations team.

This is a shift-based role with 12-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rota, so candidates must be willing to work shifts.

The role involves providing first-class Customer Service and Technical Support for network infrastructure and customer-facing equipment, including IT, Networks, Firewalls, Satellite antenna systems, and web traffic filtering rules.

You will monitor, operate, and maintain internal systems and databases within the Global Customer Support Centre, ensuring proactive management of processes and procedures for the benefit of team members and customers.


Skills and Experience:

* Practical IP networking experience (CCNA/JNCIA etc.) is highly desirable
* Knowledge of customer equipment or management systems such as Starlink VSAT and Inmarsat is desirable
* Assist in training and mentoring shift team members, and support the Team Lead in managing 1st and 2nd Line IT Support teams
* Be a proactive Shift Engineer delivering 24/7 support for the global customer base
* Ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot products and services, explaining technical details over the phone
* Excellent customer service skills, with experience interacting via phone and meetings
* Experience in Customer Service, Network Operations, or Technical Engineering
* Commercial awareness and ability to work independently
* Previous experience with the MOD is desirable
