MENSWEAR DESIGNER ( STREETWEAR) ICONIC GLOBAL BRAND
MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE ( HEAD OFFICE BASED ROLE)
UP TO £32K
Our client part of a global icon streetwear brand based in central Manchester are now looking to recruit an experienced Menswear Designer to join their team at a pivotal moment as they experience rapid growth—both as a company and ateam. This presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who are eager to evolve with them andcontribute to the dynamic trajectory of their brands.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a great opportunity to be part of a uniquely structured company with big futureambitions and which is well placed to achieve them. Theyare looking for a highly focused and organised menswear designer, with a minimum of 3 years’experience in streetwear and sportswear to work across multiples brands, each with differentdesign directions and looks. This role will also involve creating graphics for our apparel collections.
The role will involve anticipating the future trends and how they can be applied to fit their brands.
Then working with our product development team, based in Dongguan, China, to ensure newcollections and sales-samples are delivered to a critical time path.
The design team also work closely with our key retailers and distributors to ensure SMU requestsand product ranges are delivered.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
• Research and development – compile research and create mood boards to showdirection, colour, shapes and upcoming trends.
• Preparing colour palettes for seasonal collections.
• Ensuring range map/overviews of collections are up to date.
• Design and CAD in line with the brands identity.
• Complete detailed tech packs and update throughout development process.
• Assist in fittings, taking notes and updating tech packs.
• Identifying new opportunities for each brand
• Working directly with the Head of Design to ensure all key deadlines are met.
• Completing the approval of trims, materials and prints for finalised products.
• Proven background in multi-product, categories include denim, jersey, woven, outwear.
ABOUT YOU:
• Educated in Design (BA, BFA)
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role is a must, preferably for similar apparel brands.
• Have a strong portfolio demonstrating experience working in several types of productcategories.
• Excellent design and conceptual skills.
• Apparel graphic design skills.
• Deep knowledge of the fashion industry.
• Incredible attention to detail.
• Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel.
• Extensive knowledge of fabrics and technical elements and processes.
• Ability to collaborate with other designers within the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability to travel for research and product development.
